Sundays just weren’t Sundays without The Frome Independent but April 3rd hailed the return of the award-winning market. The rain held off, new parking restrictions were in place and the shopping and socialising took to the streets once again.
For 2016 The Frome Independent has come up with a way for fans and visitors to support the event to be able to survive and thrive, by creating their own loyalty card scheme called Market Makers.
Tabitha Clayson from The Frome Independent said, “Members can reap the rewards of a range of monthly discounts and offers from the Frome Independent’s brilliant traders and participating Frome shops and businesses.
“The deal is simple; Market Maker membership costs £20 per individual or £30 per couple for 2016, which works out as roughly only £2 per market. In return, members will know that they’ve supported the market’s core costs but they will also get a loyalty card entitling them to amazing discounts and offers throughout the year, on market days, online and in between markets.
“Frome is known as a town that gets on and does things for itself, punches above its weight and values independence. And true to form, Frome’s independent shops and businesses are quickly joining the scheme to help support the market and reward their loyal and new customers.
“We’re really excited to welcome some of our favourite shops and cafes on board which so far includes; Ellenbray, Studio Prints, Covers Vinyl, Assembly, Postscript, Seed, Divas, Black Swan Arts, Kushi, Raves from the Grave, Deka, Harris and Harris. We’re very grateful for their support and are looking forward to hearing about the offers they plan to make to members throughout the year. Ellenbray is currently offering 10% off all purchases made in April, which is a fantastic saving.
“What’s more, anyone who signs up before Sunday 24th April will be entered into a prize-draw for the chance to win one of many fabulous prizes donated by Frome Independent traders.
“Traders across the market have donated nearly £1,000 worth of prizes, including; a celebration cake commission from Frome cake artist, The
Bakemonger; a handmade leather satchel worth £280 from Nunney-based Bespoke Leather; a butterfly picture worth £60 from Frome’s Hunter & Collector; a beautiful silver necklace from Silver Shed; plus all manner of food, drink, accessories, home wares and hampers.”
