FROME Jazz Club like to ring the changes and on Thursday 5th October at 8.00pm the club is excited to present a jazz star new to the area, the young sax player John Martin (acclaimed by Kenny Wheeler, Iain Ballamy, and more), with a programme of music quite unlike the club’s usual high octane fireworks.
John has developed a unique playing sound that includes multiphonics and overtone colourings, and for this event John and the Keith Harrison-Broninski Trio are taking a quieter, more intimate approach, with an unusual programme of material that offers the chance to explore between the notes. Having said that, they are unlikely to resist providing a few pyrotechnics here and there!
Frome Jazz Club is held at the Cornerhouse. Entry free, doors 8pm, and early arrival advised.
