Frome Community Trust has announced that applications are now open community organisations and groups in Frome and the local villages can now apply for grants.
A total of about £5,500 is available, raised entirely by the proceeds of the Frome Community Lottery. Grants are typically given for between £200 and £2,000 and are meant for the development of community facilities in the area.
Chair of the Trust, Sue Worringham said, “All the money we are able to give out comes from the proceeds of the Frome Community Lottery. We are extremely grateful to all the local residents who play the community lottery every week, as 50% of their weekly stake of £1 comes back to Frome to support local groups. They also have a chance to win cash prizes of up to £25,000. Players who wish to join the lottery can pick up a leaflet at Frome library or join through the Trust’s website.”
Last year the Community Lottery was able to support local organisations such as the Frome Festival, the Bowling Club, the Frome Area Leg Club, Open Storytellers, the Memorial Theatre’s boiler fund and The Pod Youth Club.
Application forms, which must be returned by 28th April and are available from www.fromecommunitytrust.btck.co.uk or from Sue on 01373 462431.
