Frome NCT & Baby Café is hosting an online charity auction this November, ahead of the Christmas shopping period.
Open to all, the auction will be held online via the charity’s Facebook page, enabling anyone to bid from any location.
With over 30 local businesses donating items, the hope is that there will be something for everyone as not all items are child-related. Jennifer Connor, a volunteer fundraiser for Baby Café explains, “We have encountered so many generous businesses. The lots are so diverse – ranging from a family photo shoot worth £200 from Fox & Beau Photography, a Christmas basket from the Frome Food Hub – to Pontz men’s boxers designed by Truly Sopel or two nights in a camper van called Deirde. Why not grab a Christmas bargain from your favourite local business or just treat yourself?
“One hundred percent of the money raised will go towards keeping the relatively new but increasingly popular Baby Café Frome open.
“With an annual budget of £5,000, the charity needs to raise a further £1,050 by the close of this year to meet this target. Already in its first nine months of operation, they’ve helped over 300 local families. Run by a team of dedicated volunteers and an accredited breastfeeding counsellor, the service uniquely welcomes entire families, including fathers.”
Jennifer added, “While life with a new baby can be joyous – it can also be exhausting, stressful and uncertain. Having a free, weekly drop-in service like Baby Café where families can receive support is so needed and important.”
The auctions will be held over three days from Thursday 15th November. To join the event and view the auctions, visit either the Baby Café Frome or Frome NCT Facebook event pages.
