A school in Frome has received a £1,000 book donation, enabling pupils to enjoy a range of literary adventures.
Christ Church First School’s new collection of Usborne Books will support pupils from nursery to Year 4, enriching lessons and sparking imagination. The books have been donated by housebuilder David Wilson Redrow South West, currently building at Francis Fields at The Mount.
Head of the school Kate Rhodes said, “We are absolutely delighted with this donation and the difference it will make to our pupils. The new books will help us enhance both our classroom reading areas and our new library as well as support our curriculum topics.
“With budgets tight, donations like this make a huge impact, giving our children access to more stories, ideas and knowledge that inspire a love of reading.”
Sales director for David Wilson Redrow South West, Louise Ware, said, “It’s wonderful to know these books will make a difference for children at Christ Church First School. Supporting literacy is something we feel passionately about, as reading opens doors to imagination, confidence and learning. We’re proud to play a small part in helping the next generation discover the joy of books.”
The new development at Francis Fields includes 118 two, three and four-bedroom homes on Frome’s southern edge.
