POSITIVE Action on Cancer is pleased to announce that the 2013 Splash of Purple raised over £1,750.
On Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd March local schools, businesses and individuals took part in the purple fundraiser to support the work of the charity.
Businesses sold purple ribbons and turned windows purple, PAC hosted a cake sale and quiz night, Oakfield and Selwood schools held purple mufti days and individuals held coffee mornings and other fundraising activities.
Kelly Hall, PAC fundraiser said, “Wow- another great Splash of Purple event. A big thank you to everyone who got involved, did something purple and raised money for PAC.
“We still have a little bit more money to come in but our total is looking like it will be over £1,750. That total will pay for nearly 40 counselling sessions! At PAC we all had a great time for Splash of Purple and hope those that took part did as well.”
PAC is currently the only organisation to offer free, professional counselling to any adults or children affected or bereaved by cancer and other life threatening illnesses in BANES, Somerset and West Wilts. If you would like further information about counselling, the work of the charity or fundraising please contact Karen Dufton, PAC administrator on 01373 455255 or email info@positive actiononcancer.co.uk
