The team report, “Sophie Woolley and Georgia Cox started in the circle, with some brilliant play and shooting, helped nicely by balls being winged in by Emma Guy and perfectly timed top circle drives from Amelia Pratten.
“The second quarter continued to see Stars gain goals, with Hannah Dredge and Woolley working well together. The defence were on fire too with Kathy Dredge and Alice Millard applying pressure in the defensive circle, with Emily Chapman bringing the ball through court with immaculate control. With a convincing lead going into the half time, the rain started to come at full force. Woolley moved into defence and took some impressive interceptions. K.Dredge and Millard continued to work well as a defensive duo, and tips were still being made through court by Chapman and Guy.
Going into last quarter, Stars switched both shooters and moved around their defensive players. They continued to reset their play and use square balls throughout to maintain the lead and take the win. Player of the match: Emma Guy, Players’ Player and Coaches’ Pick went to Amelia Pratten.
