FROME Triathlon Club has had two busy weekends of long-distance racing.
Natalie George took on ‘The Gauntlet’ middle distance race in Kent, consisting of a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike over 5,000ft of climbing and finishing with an off-road run of 13.1 miles in 7hr 48 min. Emily Griffiths covered the same distance at Ironman 70.3 in Bolton on an undulating course.
Three members headed to Ironman Barcelona to finish the season. Due to bad weather conditions the sea swim was shortened for safety reasons but continued onto 112 mile bike and then 26.2-mile run. First home was Lester Bousefield in 11hr 42min, followed by Adrian Roddis in 12.32 and Nick Johnson in 13.51.
London Marathon runners included Tom Dudden in 2hr 44min, Scott Latham in 3.45 and a non-member Ed Curtis took on his first Marathon and finished in 4.23.
