THE Frome Christmas Get-Together, led by local charity Fair Frome, will make Christmas special for people from our local community who are in need of some company, food and a warm space on Christmas Day.
This year, for the first time, the event has been extended and will be held in three locations across town, in Trinity Church Hall, The Cricket Club and The Key Centre.
Co-ordinator of the event, Rosie said, “We will include some festive entertainment and activities for families, individuals and volunteers to collectively take part in. This winter will be incredibly hard and we are hoping our Christmas event will allow our community to celebrate together and spread some festive cheer.
“We want to thank everyone who has kindly offered to help or donate items for this year’s event, including all the corporate donations and partnerships with local businesses. We also want to thank anyone who has already donated to our bucket collectors at the Christmas lights switch-on and the Independent Market.
“We are extremely grateful to everyone who has signed up to volunteer so far. We do still have spaces for volunteers, especially for drivers. If you are interested in volunteering please contact us on, fromechristmas@gmail.com
“To come along to the Christmas meal you have to reserve a space, these can be made through local support groups, schools, activity groups like Active and In Touch, Fair Frome, Citizens Advice, The Health Connectors, the doctors or via the library.”
You can continue donating in December by texting FROMECHRISTMAS5 to the number 70460.
