IT is official, the votes have pawed in and Frome’s cutest pet has been found!
The winner is Buddy the dalmatian who is 11 years old, and whose owners won a special dog hamper from local pet store, Not Just Pets, based in the Market Place.
Buddy’s owner, Emma Parish said, “Buddy is a rescue dog, I have had him from when he was seven months old and he’ll be 12 in July. We got him from a rehoming site, he had three homes by the time I got him. We think he might have been a Christmas puppy because we got him around March and he had already had a couple of homes by then.
“He was very excitable and a bit of a crazy pup. He’s so loyal and very loving. Dalmatians are big foodies! He always gets told he looks younger than 12. His favourite thing to do is eating, he also loves running about. He’s definitely a mummy’s boy, he loves his cuddles. Every night if you don’t cuddle him, he will cry.
“It’s fabulous to see Buddy in the paper. It’s a highlight for him. Thank you to the voters. We are all biased towards our dogs, aren’t we – and we definitely think he’s the cutest. We are so chuffed he got so many votes.”
Mike Tozer from Not Just Pets who donated the prize hamper said, “People always want to spoil their pets and we love having pets in the shop, mainly dogs and we do get a few other pets sometimes. You get so much love back from a pet. You don’t see many dalmatians, they are beautiful dogs and they’re much bigger dogs than people imagine. The community is more than welcome in our shops in Bath and Frome, please bring your dogs because we’ll always give them a treat.”
The Frome Times’ Cutest Pet competition is organised each year for National Pet Month, which aims to raise awareness of responsible pet ownership and encourage fundraising for the nation’s needy pets.
