WE Hear You are inviting children and young people to get creative and enter their World Book Day competition.
Communications officer Lucy McMahon said, “Although things are looking up, the schools will sadly not be open in time for World Book Day, one of our favourite days of the year.
“So we thought we’d invite our talented local youngsters to entertain us with a fun competition. It’s a very flexible brief – you could draw a picture, take a photo, make a model, decorate a pizza, get dressed up and strike a pose – the only proviso is that it’s inspired by a book.
“Send us a photo of your creation to fundraising@wehearyou.org.uk by 4th March, with a little note to tell us which book inspired you and why. We’ll announce the winners the following week.
“There are two age categories, 0 to 8 years and 9 years and older. There will be prizes for the winners, and we hope it helps to keep you entertained on what we really, really hope, is the last stretch of lockdown. It’s free to enter, but as always we’re really grateful for any donations. If you’d like to make a donation, keep a look out on our Facebook posts for the competition or visit www.wehearyou.org.uk/donate/.”
