Frome Renewable Energy Co-op are looking for any homes that have been made to be more cosy, cut energy use or are greener in an way to take part in this year’s Open Homes on Saturday 17th or Sunday 18th October.
Last year 30 homes participated and received more than 600 visits (not all in one go! The average was 10-15 visits per home) and all participants said they would be happy to take part again. One householder said, “I had a lovely time; friendly and interested people visited and it was great to pass on simple things I’d done.”
Organiser Anna Francis said, ‘Open Homes is a brilliant way to learn from neighbours and peers about what works, and what doesn’t, to make your home greener. Whether you have made inexpensive changes like draught-proofing or composting or larger items like solar panels, wood-fired boilers or have a bespoke eco home – we’d love to hear from you.
“The response last year was amazing and we would love more homes to take part this year.”
