A jazz flavoured festive celebration will close the 2019 season with familiar faces at Cooper Hall – saxophonist Iain Ballamy and pianist Jason Rebello.
Long term friends, Iain and Jason met when they were both still in their teens and have sporadically worked together throughout their careers. It wasn’t until 2012 when they started dog walking together that they deepened their friendship with a shared love of terrible jokes and eclectic range of music.
Since then, every year they have recorded 3 pieces of Christmas music for their own pleasure and posted it on Soundcloud – it’s a bonding and sharing time for both men and as Iain says it’s now “a thing “ and something he looks forward to each year.
From Little Donkey to John Rutter Carols and possibly some slightly cheesy Christmas numbers, Cooper Hall are presenting the premiere performance of the past 7 year’s work from two of the country’s most celebrated jazz musicians.
Cooper Hall, Tuesday 10th December 8.00pm. Tickets are £16.50 from www.cooperhall.org
