HRH The Princess Royal, President of Save The Children, met members of the Frome branch at a reception for supporters held at Mapperton House, Beaminster, the home of the Earl of Sandwich.
Three representatives of the Frome branch, Betty Smith, Raymond Daniel and Angela Daniel attended the reception. Angela Daniel was a founder member nearly 45 years ago and Betty Smith has been a member of the Frome committee for 35 years.
After a buffet lunch, the Princess Royal addressed the gathering in the church, after which small groups were formed and went into the house. Princess Anne went from one group to another, shaking hands and speaking to each of those present.
After leaving the house, the Princess paused to admire two of the Earl’s horses before leaving by helicopter to attend another function, her fourth engagement of the day.
