FROME Lions has thanked the people of Frome for supporting their annual fete held at Victoria Park last month.
The club reports, “Despite the fete having to be delayed from its normal June date due to the Covid-19 regulations and the inclement weather conditions experienced on the day, most of the charities and vendors who booked pitches turned up and braved the elements.
“The fete was judged to be a great success by the charities and organisations who took part and helped the Lions to give the general public an afternoon of fun, and to thank them for their valued support during the past year.
“As well as some old favourites such as the coconut shy, skittles and the ever-popular tea tent and Lions barbecue, during the afternoon Junk Fish hosted a free children’s craft and activity tent and local magician and balloon entertainer Dave Hickory impressed both young and old alike with his skills, which was also offered free of charge to the children.
“The Lions would also like to thank everybody who was involved for their help in making the day a great success, especially Sydenham’s for help in transporting the equipment to and from the fete, Victoria Park ranger Phil for his help with setting up and use of facilities, Pete Daymon-Johns for his MC duties, singer Paul Kirtley for entertaining the children during the afternoon, Frome Town Band, and last but not least the commercial organisations in attendance who made donations to the Lions charity fund.”
