FOURTEEN teams took part in the latest Frome Lions quiz night held at Frome Rugby Club on 4th January.
The teams answered 10 rounds of questions on varying subjects which included history, geography, sport and Great Britain.
In the sport round, not many people knew the answer to ‘Which innovation was introduced at the 1933 FA Cup Final? Answer; Numbers on shirts.
At the end of the night, two teams tied for first place in the main quiz and shared the prize money. The winning teams comprising of Philip Ashworth, June Ashworth, Bob Ashworth and Jeremy Clatworthy; and Terry Carter, Judy Annan, Janet Wain and Jack Jones; scored a magnificent 94 points out of a possible 110.
The Lions are extremely grateful to both winning teams, who generously donated their prize money to the Lions’ charity fund.
There was also a tie in the supplementary picture quiz, with both teams successfully identifying 25 out of 30 pictures. The teams of Mike Shorey, Sue Chinnock, Yvonne and Malcolm Maunder; and Philip Ashworth, June Ashworth, Bob Ashworth and Jeremy Clatworthy, shared the prize of four bottles of wine.
The Lions’ next quiz takes place at Frome Rugby Club on Friday 8th February starting at 8.00pm.
