Frome Lions recently presented two members of staff from Dorothy House with a cheque for £9,250
Lion Mike Geake reports, “The money was raised at their 2019 Sportsman’s Dinner which was held in January at the Orangery in Orchardleigh House, when the guest speaker was one of Britain’s well-known football pundits and former Manchester United & Aston Villa manager, Ron Atkinson.
“Anne Montague from the hospice said the money will be used to fund the DH Children and young peoples’ service (CYPS) which gives support to children who have lost a loved one far too early in their life.
“Frome Lions are most grateful for the generosity shown by the many sponsors and supporters of the event. They include Mr Christopher Vincent for donating the venue and his staff who provided an excellent service, Connor Construction (South West) Ltd for their overall sponsorship, Mr David Millard for compering the evening and Mr Michael Joyce for conducting the charity auction. A special thanks also goes to the 15 businesses and individuals who donated items for the auction. And last but not least, all of the guests who attended the dinner.”
