The Sleep Easy Event, Sleeping Rough in Frome for the Homeless, will be held at Frome Youth & Community Centre on Vallis Road, on Saturday 14th November. It will be supported again this year by local MP David Warburton.
The MP for Somerton and Frome, will spend the night sleeping rough at the centre to promote awareness of youth homelessness and raise vital funds for YMCA Mendip.
The 2015 YMCA Mendip ‘Sleep Easy’ fundraising event will start at 8pm.
The MP said, “This is my second time sleeping rough for YMCA Mendip’s ‘Sleep Easy.’ The first time – in April 2013 – was a pretty chilly experience and I’m expecting temperatures to be a lot lower in mid-November! But for many young people homelessness is a daily reality and a critical issue.
“This week I met Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity, in Parliament and I’ll be working with them to support all those whose lives are affected by homelessness.
“Events like the Sleep Easy have a direct and positive impact, promoting awareness of homelessness as well as raising vital funds for organisations such as YMCA Mendip, who do amazing work to help young people in the area.”
