The Good Gallery welcomes Kate Cochrane as its feature artist for May. Kate produces local landscapes, as well as draws on her travels ranging from Wales, the Scottish Borders and Tasmania.
The selection to be exhibited at The Good Gallery takes water as their theme.
Kate said, “Being a gallery with a difference, it’s really good to be able to support a worthwhile cause – I like the fact that WHY has a listening service to help those dealing with the effects of cancer.
“As a local artist I hope to reach out to more people than usual and to raise my art profile locally, as well as with visitors. My aim is to promote a sense of joy and inspiration through my paintings.”
Her work considers trees and water in the landscape, and more recently ruined castles. Kate enjoys the play of ground and fore ground, texture, shapes and spaces, resulting in a rich tapestry of colour.
Could you volunteer at The Good Gallery?
We would love to hear from anyone who might like to donate some of their time to help staff at The Good Gallery. The gallery will be opening on Sundays throughout the summer and we are therefore looking for volunteers to help in the shop, either for full days or half-days over the weekends. We would also welcome volunteers who can help during the week too!
If you could spare one day per month (or more!) we would love to hear from you.
