WESSEX Counselling and Psychotherapy is marking Mental Health Awareness Week by running an information stall on Wednesday 17th May at Boyles Cross from 10am to 2pm.
Mental Health Awareness Week, now in its 23rd year, runs from Monday 15th to Sunday 21st May. The theme for this year is anxiety, a common feeling that can sometimes get out of control.
Wessex Counselling and Psychotherapy says, “Across the UK, people are encouraged to get involved by sharing their experience of anxiety and the things that can help with the hashtag #ToHelpMyAnxiety. As part of the campaign, the Mental Health Foundation will be publishing guidance on how we can manage and improve feelings of anxiety and prevent them from developing into a more serious mental health problem.
“Having a safe space to talk can be valuable when dealing with feelings such as anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, and many other issues.”
Wessex Counselling and Psychotherapy, celebrating 40 years of establishment this year, is a local charity offering professional, affordable, accessible counselling and psychotherapy and a range of counsellor training courses.
As a charity, they are able to offer affordable, and in some cases, subsidised sessions through grants and local fundraising. Music events, raffles and cake and plant sales are being planned and they welcome involvement from the local community.
