Frome sensations, Rare Species, bring all their best ditties and grooves for a marathon join-in Mojo Move-a-thon to help a trio of Fromies to raise funds for their Lapland Husky challenge in aid of WHY.
The event will take place on Friday 15th March at The Bennett Centre on Vicarage Street and you can drop in anytime between 7pm and 10pm. For just a fiver, have a good old boogy following Cheryl Sprinkler’s hilarious routines and earn yourself a reward of a drink and a piece of cake! The bar will be offering gin, wine, beer, cider and the urn will be on for those who would prefer a refreshing cuppa – all for donations to the cause.
Mojo Moves is a social fitness phenomenon that combines comedy with a proper dance workout to great music and theme tunes from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Brainchild of Rare Species, Cheryl Sprinkler (we can only assume named after one of her iconic dance moves) runs regular classes on Tuesday evenings at the Cheese & Grain and Thursday evenings at Oakfield Academy.
Cheryl is volunteering her time, legs and lungs for the epic three hour dance-a-thon next Friday to help reach the £12,000 target set by Ruth, Sally and Jon for their husky challenge. Setting off on March 22nd, they are aiming to sled 270km over 5 days from Norway into Sweden through untouched nature, camping out in the extreme cold and most importantly, looking after their teams of huskies. It’s a real wilderness challenge.
The money is all being raised for Frome-based charity We Hear You (WHY) who provide free, professional counselling for anyone affected by cancer or other life-threatening conditions.
For those who can’t make the Mojo Move-a-thon, but may have a few pounds they would be happy to donate to the cause, you can sponsor the sledders here – www.totalgiving.co.uk/ mypage/threeswans
