FROME Netball Club celebrated in style at their annual presentation held at the rugby club, as they report another successful season.
“Stars held their form and improved to finish third in the Premier Division,” says club member Jane Bullus. “Diamonds also finished third in Division 1, just missing out on promotion. Hearts won the Second Division on goal difference and are now promoted, joining Diamonds in Division 1.”
“Aces had a hard season in Division 3 and will play their netball in Division 4 next season which will suit them more as they are very much the junior team of the club.
“Frome hosted a successful summer league again and a team led by coach Clarke, called ‘Winging It’ took the Division 1 trophy, whilst Paulton took the honours in Division 2.”
“Frome are training hard but take a welcome break now, returning in September to get ready for the coming season.
“Player of the Season for Stars was Freya Kingsley, whilst the Diamonds award went to Emily Pascoe. Hearts award went to Claire Woodcock and the Aces one to Molly Badcock.”
The club also said goodbye to two of their players who are stepping down – Natasha Manners and Vanessa Gaunt
New members are welcome to join the club, says Jane. “This year we also running a team in the Somerset league who will play on Saturdays, along with the Moonraker League in Devizes. Check the website for contact details.”
