A TUTOR for Frome Community Education celebrates his tenth anniversary this year.

David Lassman has been running courses for the not-for-profit organisation in Frome since 2012.
David said, “I moved to Frome near the end of 2011 and after seeing an advert by Frome Community Education asking for tutors, I applied. I have run sessions on various subjects since then, although the now established Local History course has proved the most popular by a long way.”
“Over the years, many of those on the course have gone on to bigger things in terms of Frome’s heritage.”
These include several who have had books published on the town’s history, members of the Frome Society for Local Study committee, including its chair and yearbook editor, as well as numerous contributors of articles to their annual publication. Also, there are several alumni playing key roles within Frome Museum, as well as walking guides and other related activities to do with the town’s illustrious past.
David added, “I feel very proud that so many people from the course have gone on to do so much towards our history and continue to do so.”
To celebrate this milestone, however, he is initiating several new courses, alongside Local History.
“For the autumn term, I will also be running Screenwriting for Film, How to Write a Non-Fiction Book, and 20 Key Events That Have Helped to Shape the Nation.”
“All courses will take place during the afternoon and are repeated in the evening.”
