FROME FM, the community radio station on 96.6fm and online at frome.fm has started a new strand of programmes on Thursdays at 12:00pm.
The Health and Well-being Hour from Frome FM is a weekly programme put together by a number of local organisations including Frome Medical Practice and Frome Town Council to showcase the wealth of support in the town to help us live healthy and fulfilling lives.
The programme will feature health tips, interviews with health practitioners and patients, stories from community organisations who look after people’s well-being in the town and discussions about common health issues and their conventional and alternative treatments. Sports and exercises organisations and regimes will also feature.
Frome Medical Practice has already put out one show featuring Dr Andy Miller, partner and GP at the practice. Andy will also be presenting the show – ‘Doc Miller’s Medical Hour’ every 4 weeks.
The newly-appointed manager for Health and Well-being at Frome Town Council, Nicola Cretney, debuted her show ‘Radio Active’ on Thursday 12th October and future shows will come from Frome Men’s Shed (health issues around retirement), Routes (mental health issues in young people) and other organisations who put the well-being of the people of Frome and the surrounding area, old and young, at the heart of their work.
The programmes will be available on www.frome.fm shortly after their transmission as podcasts available for download.
