The Rotary club of Frome has moved their shop once again, moving from the small shop near the bridge in the Westway precinct to across the precinct, to the much larger premises which was the former Argos store.
Frome Rotary president, Margaret Gilmour said, “We are delighted to be able to expand into this larger area. We are well supported by our partners, Frome Inner Wheel and a significant number of club members and their partners and friends get involved in so very many ways, which keeps the shop vibrant and prosperous.
“In the last 12 months we have raised around £47,000 and much of this is from our Christmas float and the shop. We have spent around £30,000 on local youth programmes, assisted local support groups and charities and individual local families in need.
“We also contributed several thousand pounds toward the 1,200 children attending the wonderful annual kids out day in Longleat and a similar amount on international disaster relief such as water boxes. We also allow some local charities to use the shop at no cost, which again benefits Frome people.”
