FROME has a new mayor and deputy mayor and the pair are ready for action!
The new mayor is cllr Andy Wrintmore – who was the deputy mayor alongside the outgoing mayor, cllr Anita Collier, for 2020/21. Cllr Sara Butler is the new deputy mayor. The pair were elected at last week’s annual meeting of Frome Town Council.
Mayor, cllr Andy Wrintmore said, “I’m really excited for the year ahead, I want to thank cllr Anita Collier for mentoring me for the past year and I’m really looking forward to working with cllr Sara Butler as deputy mayor and developing a strong team working for the good of Frome – bring on the next year, it’s going to be wild!”
Deputy mayor, cllr Sara Butler said, “I’m thrilled to be deputy mayor for this coming year. As a gardener, with a focus on wildlife, the environment and our need to increase biodiversity is very much on the top of my agenda.
“With everything opening back up, I am also committed to supporting local businesses and independent shops and traders to sustain our thriving and buzzy town. And being part of a local band, I’m hugely excited to get back to playing and enjoying gigs around town and I want to support our venues and performers too.”
