Before Easter, Oakfield entered two KS2 teams and five Individual entries into the Mendip School Games Gymnastics Competition.
Miss Anna Pullen, PE teacher said, “The girls all competed at a very high level and presented their routines to an excellent standard.
“Two of our Individual entrants qualified for the Somerset School Games finals at Millfield. Kiera Burgess came 4th and Tilly Kempshall came 1st with a Gold medal; both in the Mendip Individuals category.
“On 15th April, Kiera and Tilly competed in the County Gymnastics Finals in the Somerset School Games. Both girls achieved a great deal to compete against the best gymnasts from across the Somerset Schools.
“Their gymnastics coach said the girls’ Vaults were very high and well turned out. They supported each other well and had a great day. Well done to both girls for their efforts and hard work.
“A special mention goes to Tilly Kempshall, who won a Gold medal and trophy; coming first in the Individuals Category for Somerset. Fantastic work Tilly.”
