FROME’S Oakfield Choir will perform its spring concert on Saturday 21st May at Christ Church, Frome and it will feature, ‘A German Requiem.’
‘A German Requiem’ by Johannes Brahms is regarded by many to be one of his finest choral compositions, which also presents a challenge for many choirs as it is sung in German.
The programme will also include the composition Five Mystical Songs by Vaughan Williams.
The Oakfield Choir has a reputation for working with high class orchestras, but on this occasion the concert will be accompanied by two pianists, Jacquelyn Bevan and Brenda McDermott, with soloists Siona Stockel (soprano) and Niall Hoskin (baritone) all under the baton of the choir’s musical director, Neil Moore. The concert takes place on Saturday 21st May at 7.30pm in Christ Church, Frome.
