NINE year-old Annalise Perkins from Frome has donated 12 inches of her hair to the Little Princess trust and has raised £268.
Having grown her hair for two and a half years, Annalise was inspired to cut off her long locks and donate it The Little Princess Trust after hearing that the charity makes wigs for children who have lost their own hair through illness.
Annalise said, “It made me feel sad to think that some children have no hair and I wanted to help. The only thing I was worried about was that my hair wasn’t going to be long enough to donate. I wasn’t nervous about having my hair cut off because it can grow back again.”
Annalise had her hair cut at Miyos Hair Salon on Catherine Hill which they kindly did free of charge. Annalise said, “I feel so happy knowing it was going to a good cause and I love my new haircut.”
Annalise’s dad David said, “Me and my wife Katherine are extremely proud of Annalise. She was so brave and high spirited throughout her hair cut. When Annalise suggested to us about donating her hair to The Princess Trust we respected her decision and gave her our full support. It didn’t surprise us when she suggested it because she has such a caring nature.
“Annalise has raised £268.85 for the charity and we would like to thank everyone that has kindly sponsored her.”
