Local writer and translator, Gordon Vells, has just published his debut poetry collection, Plundered by Lobsters, now on sale at Hunting Raven Books in Cheap Street.
He explains, “I live close to the point where the boundaries of Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire meet, and Hunting Raven is very much my local bookshop,”
His poetry reveals a fascination with the natural world, the miracle of writing and the perception of colour, and is at times shot through with dry humour.
“I started attending the Poetry Café in Frome last summer, and the support I experienced there gave me the confidence to put together and publish this collection.”
