Popular community project Project Play has announced that its next play will be the enormously popular Dad’s Army – and you are invited to audition!
The group reports, “Project Play launched two years ago and staged The Vicar of Dibley in 2018 and ‘Allo ‘Allo in 2019. This production of Dad’s Army is expected to be the most popular yet. A Read Through will be held at the Merlin Theatre on Friday 6th September at 7pm with auditions on Sunday 8th September, 6pm, again at the Merlin.
“Since its conception, Project Play has donated around £5,000 to worthwhile causes and has had around 10,000 watch a production. Previous participants are again eager and lots of new faces have shown interest too. The project welcomes everyone and wecstrongly suggest a visit to our Facebook page, for full details.
“The cherry on the cake of this year’s announcements, is that this season’s project will also be able to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day and will be raising funds for the Help for Heroes charity too.
