Pub Theatre returns to Frome

Nevertheless Fringe Theatre, Frome’s popular ‘pub theatre’ company, returns to the Cornerhouse on 16th and 17th December.  

With a new production: ‘Toxic Cocktails’, comprises three darkly-comic scripts by Frome playwrights Crysse Morrison and Rosie Finnegan, with Rosie directing.

Rosie also directed ‘Midsummer Dusk’, the theatrical hit of this year’s Frome Festival, in  a site-specific production at the Dissenters Cemetery.

Rosie said, “Our new show is three short contemporary comedies, each with a twist that may surprise, and we’re delighted to be working with two fabulous young actors from Bristol.”

Anneliese Paul and Joanna Smith both trained at Bristol Acting Academy and have performed in various professional companies as well as having radio and film experience. Crysse spotted Joanna in a recent production and sent her the scripts.

Crysse said, “They both loved the roles, and they’ve worked together before, so we’re very excited at the way this is all coming together!”

‘Toxic Cocktails’ runs for two nights upstairs at the Cornerhouse on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th December.

The performance starts at 8.00pm and costs £5 for ‘the best hour you’ll ever have for a fiver!’ in the words of one recent audience member!
