Oakfield Academy pupils were treated to a special visit from author Finbar Hawkins who gave an inspirational talk to the children.
Finbar spoke about his two books, Witch, and Stone, and explained to the pupils how to create a story, focusing on character, plot and world-building.
Jo Milkins, the librarian at Oakfield Academy said, “The pupils came up with some very imaginative ideas including a story about a mouldy potato and a stone-age Estonian called Steven! Thank you to Finbar for coming along, and also to Tina from Hunting Raven Books for organising the event.”
