Vallis First School in Frome unveiled their newly-refurbished foundation stage playground to the pupils, parents and volunteer team of workers last month.
The school says, “The improvements were the vision of one of the parents in the school who kindly offered his time and expertise to help get the project off the ground.
After receiving further offers of help from parents and some local companies, the project started by making a stage, areas for growing fruit and vegetables, a sensory garden, a dig and discover mud kitchen and a bug hotel
Mrs Higgins, the foundation stage phase co-ordinator said, “We are very grateful to our parent and grandparent volunteers, our Vallis School Association, Danscape Gardens Ltd, Frome Area Building Supplies Ltd, Bradfords Building Supplies, Tsiolkovsky Solutions and J W Ransome & Sons who have all helped support the playground re-vamp. The children are so excited to be able to play with all the new toys and experience the different areas.”
