Frome has lost yet another post office service as the branch in the SPAR shop on Rodden Road officially closed its doors on Thursday 29th June which means there is now only one post office service available in the town.
The Post Office say that the new owners of the recently sold shop on Rodden Road are currently applying to operate a post office branch in the shop – the SPAR shop will remain open during this time.
The nearest available post office services can now be found in Portway and further afield in Mells. This marks the second post office closure in the town in a year following the Westway post office closing last September.
A Post Office spokesperson said, “The shop where the Rodden Road post office in Frome is based has been recently sold. The post office has temporarily closed, and the new owners are applying to operate the branch.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this temporary closure. Alternative branches in the area include Portway and Mells.”
The full addresses of alternative branches are Portway Post Office, 2 Portway, Frome, BA11 1QP and the Mells Post Office, Woodlands End, Mells, Frome, BA11 3PF.
