A sell-out audience was treated to a fantastic evening of music and poetry performed by talented pupils from all year groups in Oakfield Academy’s Blues and Beyond concert recently, and what diversity was on show.
From individual performers, singers and instrumentalists to a large group performance the performance covered many musical genres from traditional blues to rock, 19th century opera to 21st century pop.
The evening was hosted with style and humour by Stan Butler-White and Sam Cotterell and stage management, lights, sound and digital presentation was also run by a great technical team of students; Gethin, Ronnie, Eric, Ethan and Alex.
An impressive first for Oakfield was achieved by Immy Draper in Year 8, who became the first student to accompany the choir at a concert, just one of many amazing performances during an unforgettable evening. Well done to everyone who took part.
