SILK Mill Studios in Frome is holding an open studio weekend next month for local people to pop in and watch the artists work.
The studios in Saxonvale will be open to the public on Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December.
Fashion designer and organiser Hayley Trezise says, “We are opening our studios to the public for people to meet artists directly and see where we create from.
“It’s such a wonderful thing for the maker and the visitor to meet direct. We have a chance to share our tales of why we do what we do, how things are created and give them our story.
“People love to see the creative space we work in; my studio has been compared many times to Aladdin’s cave or something from Alice in Wonderland!
“It also gives people a chance to buy directly from the artists which is an amazing thing in both ways because it supports British arts and crafts, and we get to see who is buying our art.”
Art on show will include paintings, poetry, jewellery, sculpture, prints and textiles.
People will be able to visit the following artists: Hayley Trezise, ‘I dress myself’, ‘Mount’, Moxi Lovegrove, Anthony Oram, Joy Meron, Maggie J Wallace, Amanda Bee, Clare Lloyd, Kerrie McNeil, Victoria Collis, Marie-Louise Lowcock-Milliner and Alexandra Brown-Painter.
The studios will be open from 5.00pm – 6.00pm on Friday and 11.00am to 5.00pm at the weekend.
