A MONTHLY pub choir is inviting you to sing loud and proud at their meeting next week.
The group encourages all singing abilities to come along and organisers say it is a great way to meet new people. However, the group are especially on the hunt for more male voices.
Scott Ward, who runs Frome Pub Choir said, “We are sadly still lacking male voices in the group with men being out numbered at least 10 to 1. We have a great group of regulars as well as some people who pop in every two to three sessions as and when they can.
“The great thing about our Pub Choir is that nobody is tied in to a set number of weeks like with some other social choirs, it’s not hugely expensive and any money we make covers our expenses like our professional musical director, David Hynds, who prepares all the vocal parts and teaches them on the night with the perfect blend of professionalism and humour.
“So it doesn’t matter if you are an accomplished choir singer or an embarrassed shower singer, we offer a great evening of entertainment and the opportunity to make a few new friends in a casual and friendly environment.
“We give our singers the chance to choose which song they would like to learn and perform via a vote on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/fromepubchoir
“This month’s choices are ‘Shine’ by Take That, ‘Empire State of Mind part 2’ by Alicia Keys and ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ by Bonnie Tyler.”
The next choir meeting is on Tuesday 13th November at 7pm (singing starts at 7.30pm) at 23 Bath Street.
