SEVERAL artists and makers in and around Frome have opened their studios and workspaces to the public this Autumn.
The artists and makers are taking part in Somerset Open Studios, which runs until Sunday 3rd October.
You can find full details of the artists taking part from the Somerset Art Works website: www.somersetartworks.org.uk or look out for the yellow maps to be found in various venues around town.
Organisers say, “There is also a pull-out section in the new edition of Evolver magazine, an app that can be downloaded and we are on Google Maps! There will also be the distinctive yellow signage which will mark the participating venues.
“The Silk Mill in Frome (Venue numbers 107 – 113) has seven artists taking part and would make a great starting point followed by coffee and cake in town!
“You could then wander out to Venue 115 in Frome with three artists under one roof along with Venue 114 all situated in Keyford. After a lunch break in one of Frome’s amazing eateries you could call in on Venue 116 and 118 as you make your way out of Frome towards Wanstrow (Venue 124) and Batcombe (Venue 125) finally arriving at Bruton which has another cluster of artists.
“There is so much to see you could fill several days! This is a Somerset wide event so you could plan visits across the county and have some lovely days out whilst supporting local artists and makers. For many participants this may be the first event they have had for over a year.
“Core opening times are 10am until 5pm but be sure to check with the individual venues and artists. Some are not open every day and some have a pre- booking system. We all look forward to welcoming you to our workshops, studios or homes over the period of the event.”
