INTERNATIONAL Women’s Day is being celebrated in Frome in March with two special events that will embrace big issues impacting women.
Orange Juice Promotions are hosting ‘ADHD and Women: Your Story Your Way Forward’ at the Cheese and Grain on Tuesday 5th March and ‘LuinLuLand Self Love Revolution’ at The Merlin on Friday 8th March.
Olivia and Jade, from Orange Juice Promotions, started the company in 2022 after becoming frustrated with the lack of women being represented in the events industry, both on and off stage. Two years on, their small business has gone from strength to strength and the duo say they are delighted to be celebrating International Women’s Day 2024 by welcoming two highly sought after female speakers to Frome.
“On Tuesday 5th March, scientist, multi award-winning social entrepreneur and neurodiversity advocate, Dr Samantha Hiew, will be at the Cheese and Grain discussing ADHD in women,” the duo say. “They will be helping to answer the questions women seek to help them move forward for a condition previously and incorrectly seen as a male issue, due to the ways symptoms vary in women.
“The UK has seen an unprecedented increase in demand for ADHD diagnosis, with women commonly misdiagnosed. Dr Tony Lloyd, the chief executive of the ADHD foundation, states a 400% increase in the number of adults seeking diagnosis since 2020.”
On International Women’s Day itself, Friday 8th March, Lou Featherstone, more commonly known as @LuInLuland is bringing her Self-Love Revolution to the Merlin Theatre, ahead of travelling to the USA to lead Ted X talks. Describing herself as a midlife mindset shifter and a positivity rebel, Lou has amassed a huge following both on and offline and for very good reason.
On her upcoming Frome appearance, Lou said, “Nothing is more exciting than a room full of women bonded together to empower one another. Come and experience the tears, the laughter and the power of vulnerability as I take you in my very personal journey from vicar’s daughter to the women I am today. I’ll inspire you to live life the way you want to live it.”
