Families across Frome are invited to celebrate the arrival of spring with a nature-filled day at Vallis Farm.
They are hosting a Spring Festival on Saturday 2nd May, 10am to 3pm with a chance to meet farm animals, try the new wild swimming pool and sauna, browse a wide variety of stalls selling local and handmade goods, meet the makers – from artists to jewellery makers – and enjoy forest school sessions, lawn games, storytelling, face painting any more.
“This special seasonal event promises creativity, adventure, and wholesome countryside charm, with a few delightful surprises along the way,” said Vicky Hunter-Frigerio, Business Development Manager at Vallis Farm.
“Children can immerse themselves in hands-on Forest School sessions, explore nature through play, and enjoy storytelling, face painting and classic lawn games. Meanwhile, visitors can meet the onsite makers in their open studios, and enjoy the wild pool and sauna (pre-book), usually for Friends of Vallis members only.

“Guests can also browse a range of stalls featuring handmade goods, crafts, and farm-grown plants perfect for those looking to take a little piece of spring home with them.
“Food lovers will be well catered for, with a menu of delicious, locally sourced seasonal fare including hearty stew, homemade cakes & biscuits, and freshly brewed tea and coffee. A bar serving locally produced drinks will ensure a relaxed and sociable atmosphere throughout the day.
“The farm itself will be open for exploration, giving families the chance to meet the chickens and sheep, dig and build in the sandpit, and roam freely through the grounds, making it an ideal day out for curious minds and energetic adventurers alike.
“Adding to the day’s charm, the enigmatic Lady V will be in attendance — Vallis Farm’s wonderfully eccentric (and occasionally delightfully outspoken) lady of the house. Guests are encouraged to keep an eye out for her as she makes her rounds; encounters are rarely dull.”
Forest School sessions are recommended for children aged 4 to 10, though all are welcome. Spaces are limited, cost £5 and pre-booking is recommended. Adults are required to accompany children.
Due to very limited parking at the farm, visitors are encouraged to walk or cycle; the farm is right on the East Mendip Way. Drop-off at the farm is permitted, with additional parking available at Vallis Vale on a first-come, first-served basis.
“Whether you’re crafting, playing, feasting, or simply soaking up the beauty of the season, Vallis Farm’s Spring Celebration is set to be a memorable day for the whole family,” added Vicky.
