THE nursery and reception classes at Springmead School and Nursery in Beckington have been shortlisted for the prestigious ISA Award for Excellence and Innovation 2022.
A spokesperson from the school said, “One example is due to the remarkable work that the nursery and reception classes achieved for their drama, storytelling and filmmaking. This was shown on the BBC regional news earlier in the year. Their methods, innovating ways to share with parents the work that they do, can be seen on their You Tube channel, offering a bird’s eye view of children’s first-hand experiences in these classes.
“Our early years team work tirelessly to keep children’s needs front and centre, combining sound pedagogic knowledge with a sense of relevance and up-to-date thinking and practice.”
On Monday 3rd October, the headteacher Sally Cox and deputy head teacher Shirley Offe, were interviewed about the award on BBC Radio Somerset.
