FREEMASONS in Frome recently handed over more teddy bears to the town’s A&E department, to be used to comfort children at the hospital.
Freemason Alex Curran says, “The two Masonic lodges in Frome have for many years supplied teddies to the A&E at Frome Hospital, which allows the staff to use them as a comfort to the young ones who unfortunately have to use this facility.
“It is estimated that around 250 teddies are handed out at Frome Hospital in any one year which also demonstrates what a busy unit it is.”
Healthcare assistant, Linda Green says, “The teddies are a vital ingredient in keeping the children calm and we even bandage the teddy which always seems to work wonders!”
Teddy bear coordinator for the Freemasons at Frome, John Collier added, “Supporting the hospital is a rewarding and satisfying use of Masonic resources.”
