Frome’s Independent Market is back – and this year there’s a loyalty card.
Fans of the market can now get incredible discounts, special offers and help support the growing market by getting the Market Maker loyalty card.
As a Market Maker you will be helping the award-winning Frome Independent to survive and thrive in 2016.
Market Maker membership costs £20 per individual or £30 per couple for the year, which works out as roughly £2 per market, in return for which members will receive a card entitling them to amazing discounts and offers all year on market days, online and in between markets.
Deals will be offered by market traders, but also from Frome’s independent shopkeepers as well.
Spokesperson for The Frome Independent, which returns on Sunday 3rd April, said the scheme is part fundraiser, part independent loyalty card with plenty of benefits for members.
She said, “We’re really excited to launch the Market Maker scheme, which will not only enable visitors and locals to access amazing discounts, but will help support our core costs and retain our independence as a not-for-profit community organisation.
“We need at least 500 Market Makers to get the ball rolling, so come and join the revolution with us.”
Everyone who signs up before Sunday 24th of April will be entered into a prize-draw, with an opportunity to win one of 25 fabulous prizes donated by Frome Independent traders.
Traders across the market have donated nearly £1,000 worth of prizes, including a gift box from Handmade Cider, a celebration cake commission from Frome cake artist The Bakemonger, a handmade leather satchel worth £280 from Nunney-based artisan Bespoke Leather, and much more besides.
A regular Frome Independent trader Neil Worley of Worley’s Cider said, “As local, independent cider producers, The Frome Independent is very important to us. Trading regularly at a well-supported market makes a huge difference to small businesses like ours, and we’re happy to support the Market Makers scheme however we can.”
Independent retailer, Anthony Hick of Assembly on Catherine Hill said, “The Market Makers card is a great way to engage with people both in the town and further afield, encouraging them to enjoy the town all year round.”
Lucy Marshall a local and a regular visitor to the market who has already become a Market Maker said, “The Market Maker loyalty card scheme is a great idea and I am proud to support the wonderful market in this way.”
It couldn’t be easier to become a Market Maker, with sign up forms now live on The Frome Independent website www.thefromeindependent.org.uk/friends Facebook page and at the TFI stall on Sunday 3rd April.
