AN EXHIBITION at this year’s Frome Festival will display vintage postcards of Somerset titled ‘The Postcard is Always Innocent’ curated by Frome resident Susie Clark and Jeremy Cooper.
From 1st-19th July at Frome Library, take a trip back in time and see places in Somerset dating back to pre-1920s, including iconic streets and places in Frome.
Curated by Susie Clark, a freelance curator who moved to Frome in 2016 and former gallery manager, and Jeremy Cooper, a writer, curator and former expert on BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, the exhibition is travelling around the county.
The exhibitions have been taking place since spring 2019, planned especially to coincide with a major exhibition at The British Museum in London: ‘The World Exists To Be Put on A Postcard’ to celebrate Jeremy Cooper’s gift of an important collection of postcards made by artists from 1960 to the present day.
The exhibition will be open 9.30am – 5pm Monday-Friday, 9.30am – 4pm Saturday. Admission: free.
