FOLLOWING their success in 2011, Julian Seviour’s mighty Wanderers are back to battle for the ‘Charity Cup’ against Frome’s PUB Cricket Club, raising funds for The Fire Fighters’ charity.
The match will be held at Frome Cricket Club on Sunday 4th August and consist of a 30 over match with a T20 feel to it. Music and commentary will be provided by Mike Ford plus a pitchside barbecue and the hospitality of Frome Cricket Club.
Record sales of raffle tickets are expected, especially as this year’s main prize is a helicopter flight donated by Orcharleigh House. The lucky winners will take off from the pitch after the match and have a sightseeing flight over the town, before returning to the clubhouse to share their experience.
The organisers say, “Everyone is welcome to attend, support the teams and show appreciation to all our generous sponsors. Check out one of Frome’s fire engines and chat to the crew. Watch as the helicopter arrives and whisks off the winners before returning to the pitch. Lots of laughs are guaranteed, some good cricket may also be played, but that is not guaranteed!
“We wish to thank the following sponsors;
