Children at Vallis First School have raised over £200 for Diabetes UK by wearing blue clothes for the day in exchange for a donation.
The school reports, “This charity is very close to our hearts at Vallis as two of our children, Harry and Bradley (holding balloons in picture) have Type 1 diabetes,” said Rachel McPherson from the school. “This week is Diabetes Awareness Week so today was a good day to raise some money for a very worthy cause.”
The children have also been working on a healthy living project during the week. As part of the project, Asda Frome’s community colleague visited the school with all the ingredients for over 250 children to make fruit kebabs.
The community colleague would like to thank the children for all making her feel so welcome.
