West Country musician and committed Action for Children supporter, Clive Melton has launched his debut CD, Vanity with a live gig at The Wheatsheaf in Frome raising over £400 for the leading children’s charity.
The event was part of Clive’s ongoing fundraising endeavours for Action for Children with the musician also braving the elements with two friends for the charity’s Byte Night Sleep-Out in October raising over £1,000 to help young people tackle issues that can lead to homelessness.
Sal Steeple, consultant for Action for Children’s West of England fostering service said, “The event was a great success, with performances by Clive and his friends, family and musical collaborators helping to raise over £400 on the night reflecting the warmth and generosity of the audience.
“I was also very grateful to be given the opportunity to address the audience about the vital work Action for Children does in supporting looked-after children and to chat to people about fostering. I would like to congratulate Clive on such a successful launch. To donate all proceeds for the rest of the year from album sales is a tremendous gesture and I thank him for his ongoing support and generosity.”
Clive worked closely on the album with his friend, Will Hitchings who was an on-stage sound engineer for the late Amy Winehouse and played bass on Vanity. Friends and family members, many whom are full-time musicians, also played on the CD.
The album is available via his Facebook page www.facebook.com/clive.melton for £10. All proceeds go to Action for Children’s fostering services until the end of 2016.
