THE Frome Tennis Club has two upcoming events that the wider community and non-members have been invited to join in with.
First up is the Caribbean Night on Saturday 22nd July where people can enjoy a summer’s evening with authentic Caribbean food and music at Frome Tennis Club Pavillion. This will be £20 per person which will include a welcome drink (either fruit punch or rum punch) with plantain chips.
The buffet dinner will include boned and stuffed chicken legs stuffed with herbs and kale, pitons pork strips, flame grilled beef burgers and veggie burgers, hot dogs, caribbean coconut rice and red beans and creole sauce. Desert will be banana flambé with vanilla ice cream.

Frome’s very own Wimbledon finals day
The club’s championships are now underway and the club will be celebrating with a final’s day on Sunday 23rd July. Organisers say, “We would like to invite non-members, friends and family to come along and enjoy this day – there is no need to book you can come and go as you please.”
The order of play is as follows: 12pm – welcome drink and veterans’ doubles; 1pm – ladies’/ men’s singles; 2pm – cream tea for spectators; 3pm – doubles finals; 5.30pm final presentation. There will be Pimms, cream teas and strawberries and cream available from the Pavillion.
