At this time of year, many people are receiving cheques for their Winter Fuel Allowance. For many this will be a vital addition to their income, helping them to keep warm through the winter months. Other people prefer to donate it to charity. Fair Frome, the local charity delivering real projects to improve the lives of local residents, are asking people to consider donating to them.
The money received will support their three major projects; the furniture bank, community dining events and most importantly the Fair Frome Foodbank, an increasingly vital resource for local people who are enduring economic hardship.
This year has seen almost double the number of bags of essential groceries sent out. These groceries are donated by the people of the town, collected, sorted and packed by local volunteers, to help local residents who are in economic difficulties. These essential items may allow, possibly a friend or neighbour the luxury of not having to choose between heating or eating to pay a bill. Fuel allowance donations will help some of our fellow residents through a particularly hard time in their lives.
Donations can be made at https://localgiving.org/ charity/fairfrome/ or cheques sent to at Fair Frome, Frome Town Hall, Christchurch Street West, Frome BA11 1EB. For further information, please email info@fairfrome.org or tel. 01373 488578.
